Mathematics Specialist in International Schools MSIS K-7 is a 2-year certificate program designed for K-7 classroom teachers of mathematics. The program is a cohort program focusing on mathematics content specific to the K-8 AERO
Mathematics Standards. The design of the program is a coherent sequence of four 3 day institutes designed to enhance teacher understanding of the mathematics, how student learn the mathematics, and how to determine evidence of student understanding of the mathematics.

Mathematics Fellows in International Schools (MFIS 7-12) is a 2-year certificate program designed for classroom teachers of mathematics, Grades 7-12. The program is a cohort sequence of 5 institutes designed to enhance teachers’ understanding of the AERO Mathematics progressions and how to use the mathematical practices to bring order and logic to the content they teach.

Sessions:

1. Nov. 2-3, 2022 pre-conference in Rome.
2. Spring 2023  (dates and host school TBD) 3 days.
3. Fall 2023, 2-day pre-conference at the annual conference 2023.
4. Spring 2024 (dates and host school TBD) 3 days.
5. Spring 2024 (dates and host school TBD) 3 days. (MFIS only)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• A valid Education Teaching license
• Currently teaching mathematics, K-7, in an internationalSchool
• A letter of recommendation from a current school administrator

REGISTRATION RATES

• Tuition per institute per participant is:
  • AOS Assisted Schools Member participants: $150
  • Member participants: $300
  • Non-member schools: $500

Registration includes transportation to/from the conference hotel and host school. Coffee, snacks, and lunches are also provided.
