    Application for Employment at the United States Air Force Academy - Part 1
  • This is an application for custodial positions at the Air Force Academy.  If hired, applicants will work for Rowe Contracting (primary contractor), or Superior Keystone (sub-contractor) to provide cleaning services at the Academy.  

     

    Applicants may be tested for illegal drugs and a background check at the employer's discretion.  

    We hire three categories of employees.  Read each category carefully and then select the position you are applying for:  

    1) Full-Time Custodial Staff:  Our companies provide cleaning services 24 hours per day at the Academy.  75% of our cleaning positions work their shift in the evenings or overnight, 5 days per week.  We employ approximately 72 employees in these positions.  

     

    2) Part-Time Weekend Custodial Staff:  The majority of our part-time custodial staff work weekends.  Minimum age is 16.  

     

    3) Special Events Part-Time Staff:  Our Special Events staff sign up to work specific events, athletic games, graduations, ceremonies, or cleaning projects.  Some people work 3 hours per month; others work 30 hours per week for many weeks of the year. Hours are not gauranteed - the department supervisor can provide estimates for interested employees.  Minimum age is 16.

  • We collect potential employee's Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in order to conduct background screenings.  Also, if an employee is selected by us for employment at the Academy, the Air Force will conduct an additional background check in order to authorize and issue entry badges and ID cards.  

  • Full-Time and Part-Time Applicants: How many hours can you work each week? 35 is the minimum for full-time consideration. 14 is the minimum for part-time consideration.      

  • Special Events Part-Time Applicants: How many hours can you work each month? 3 is the minimum; 120 is the maximum.

    Please list the following information for each place you have worked for the past 5 years. If you leave out information that we need we may disregard this application.   If you are / were self employed, please include the information.  

    List the employer / company name, address, dates of employment, name of supervisor, telephone number, pay / salary, skills or qualifications used with your work, and the SPECIFIC reason for leaving.  

    Example:  

    1) Scheels Sporting Goods, 1226 Interquest Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80921; August 2015 - June 2021; Bill Smith (719) 220-6444; $15 / hr; I worked in the camping sales department and then as a cashier; I left because I wanted a change and could not get the hours I wanted.

    In exchange for the consideration of my EMPLOYEE CONTRACT AGREEMENT by Rowe Contracting Service (hereinafter called "The Company"), I agree that: 

     

    I authorize investigation of all statements contained in this application.  I understand that the misrepresentation or ommission of facts called for is cause for dismissal at any time without any previous notice.  I hereby give the Company permission to contact schools, previous employers (unless otherwise indicated), references, and others, and hereby release the Company from any liability as a result of such contact.  

     

    I also understand that (1) the Company has a drug and alcohol policy that provides for pre-employment testing as well as testing after employment; (2) consent to and compliance with such policy is a condition of my employment; and (3) continued employment is based on the successful passing of testing under such policy.  I further understand that continued employment may be based on the successful passing of job-related physical examinations.  

     

    I understand that, in connection with the routine processing of my employment application, the Company may elect to use a consumer reporting agency to run a 'Detailed' investigative consumer report including information as to my credit records, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, mode of living, criminal background as well as - if any - sex offenses.  By signing this document I give authority to Rowe Contracting to run a 'Detailed' background investigation.  The Company will provide me with additional information concerning the nature and scope of any such report requested by it, as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.  

     

  • I,         understand that it is my responsibility to be able to obtain and maintain a valid security clearance and / or favorable background / credit check obtained by Rowe through a contracted independent agency. I understand that if I am unable to obtain / maintain a valid clearance because of an UNFAVORABLE BACKGROUND / CREDIT CHECK this is grounds for immediate TERMINATION / RELEASE due to mandated government contract requirements, regulations, and procedures.

    I further understand that my employment with the Company shall be for probationary for a period of sixty (60) days, and further that at any time during the probationary period or thereafter, my employment relation with the Company is terminable at will for any reason by any party.
