Arts in Public Places Volunteer program overview: Art knows no language yet it speaks: Beauty. Therapy. Transformation! Just a few reasons the City of North Miami deems art essential to the health and vigor of its diverse communities. A long-standing proponent of the arts—whether as the film or recording capital of South Florida—or as home to the internationally-renowned Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA), the City launched its Arts in Public Places program (APP) in 2010, coordinating closely with the County’s own ‘Art in Public Places’ initiative.
Volunteers are current students over the age of 18yrs who have the availability or flexibility in their schedule to get involved with APP as their schedule permits.
These volunteers receive detailed opportunities with special events planning and logistics on a monthly basis that revolve around the arts. Special events usually occur later on weeknights or weekends. Volunteers can serve as speakers or session facilitators or additional events support with registration or youth engagement. Sign up to learn about these opportunities and more by completing the intern application below.
Where it applies, volunteers may recieve community service hours and/or credit for college or unversities.
Completed applicants will be added to the Volunteer Email List and receive updates and information about upcoming opportunities.
