This open call is an opportunity for photojournalists to receive an invitation by care:work to be included as a featured artist for an upcoming public art installation (TBA).
care:work exhibitions are shared in empty storefronts, billboards, and digital platforms to present powerful images of people who are essential to the health, community, and economy of the United States and all too often taken for granted. Our goal is to reveal not only the contributions caregivers make to our communities, but also their struggle and sacrifice.
There is a stipend of $250 for those whose works are chosen by the selection committee. The copyright to the image remains with the photographer. The photographer will be credited wherever the artwork appears.
The care:work team commits to promoting these exhibitions, offering the photographer visibility and an opportunity to contribute to a relevant and compelling public art project in this difficult time.
