  • 3. When handling a sealed letter or parcel suspected to be laced with Anthrax, the following precautionary steps must be adopted by the Auxiliary Police Officer:

    i. Do not shake or empty its contents
    ii. Put on rubber gloves or use plastic bags as glove
    iii. Place the letter or parcel in a plastic bag or some other type of container to prevent leakage of contents
    iv. Turn off the fans/air-conditioner or ventilation units in the area
    v. Close the doors and windows, cordon off the area to prevent others from entering
    the affected area
