Unit #4: Refining our Actions
Allah (swt) created everything in a perfect way. In this course, we will understand the Divine natural law (shari`ah) that govern us: it giverns our relationship with Allah, with ourselves, with one another, with other creatures, and with nature. Living in harmony with our innate nature, and the Divine natural law, can help us live a peaceful, meaningful, purposeful, and fulfilling life. Sufi Muslims have developed methodoligies that can help us deduce rules and regulations that are in harmony with the Qur'an and the Divine Law. Prophet Muhammd's life is an example and a testimony for that. Therefore, in this unit, we will explore the Prophet's biography, his teaching, the values, the principals, and the methdologies that can enable us to underastand the law correctly and apply it in our daily lives and interactions.
Prerequisite Assignment
Every students is required to answer the self-reflecting questions that will be send to them, and be ready to share it in the first class.

Books:
Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources Audio Book by Martin Lings. (You can order it via Amazon)
Code of Ethics:
Every student must sign Universal Chaplaincy Code of Ethics before first class starts.
Attendance
This class is highly interactive. Therefore, every student is expressed to attend all classes to getthe full benefits of class discussions and didactics. In case you may have to be absent from class, you will have to watch the recoded video as soon as you can and catch up with any missing assignments. Every student is allowed three leave of absence during the unit.
Assignments:
This class is meant to help you become more self-aware and to learn how to facilitate a way for others to become self-aware. Therefore, we emphasis on doing all the assignment on time to really get the full benefit of the class.

Interpersonal Relationships:
Every student is expected to fully participate in sharing thoughts, feelings, critique, and readingreflections in class discussions.
Real Life Scenarios:
Active exercises on how to respond as a Hakim/Hakimah in different scenarios.
Verbatims:
Every student isrequired to submit two verbatims (case-studies)
Supervisors Final Evaluation:
Every student will receive a final evaluation report by his/her supervisors.
Certificate:
Every student will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing all the assignments required by the supervisor.
