Release of Liability and Assumption of Risks
The undersigned individual desires to participate in the Uhnlock Shasta Retreat, a five-day retreat taking place in and around Mount Shasta, California, from September 24 through September 28, 2026. The Uhnlock Shasta Retreat has been organized by Meredith Sloane of Real Healing, Inc. (“Promoter”).
In consideration for Promoter permitting me to participate in the Uhnlock Shasta Retreat, I agree to execute this Release of Liability and Assumption of Risks (the “Release”).
I understand that participation in the Uhnlock Shasta Retreat may involve inherent and other risks, including risks associated with travel, outdoor activities, walking or hiking on uneven terrain, movement practices, group activities, weather conditions, transportation, interactions with other participants, and other activities occurring in connection with the retreat. I voluntarily choose to participate in the Uhnlock Shasta Retreat with knowledge of these risks and assume full responsibility for any risks of injury, illness, loss, damage, or other harm that may arise from my participation, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence, willful misconduct, or unlawful conduct of any Released Party.
I agree to release and discharge Promoter and its employees, agents, representatives, contractors, volunteers, affiliates, successors, and assigns, as well as all other persons, corporations, venues, transportation providers, landowners, vendors, or other entities that might have any liability to me in connection with the Uhnlock Shasta Retreat (collectively, the “Released Parties”), from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, whether known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, suspected or unsuspected, that relate to or arise from my participation in the Uhnlock Shasta Retreat, including claims arising from the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties.
This Release is intended to release and discharge the Released Parties from claims and liabilities of any nature arising from my participation in the Uhnlock Shasta Retreat, including claims related to the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by California law.
I further agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Promoter from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, cost, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, incurred by Promoter as a result of my acts or omissions, or my participation in any activity sponsored by or involving Promoter in connection with the Uhnlock Shasta Retreat, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence, willful misconduct, or unlawful conduct of Promoter or any other Released Party.
The laws of the State of California shall govern the rights and obligations of the parties to this Release and the interpretation, construction, and enforceability of this Release. I agree that any lawsuit brought against any Released Party shall be brought solely in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, to the extent permitted by law.
Promoter reserves the right to use my name and any photographs, audio recordings, or video recordings of me, alone or with others, taken during the Uhnlock Shasta Retreat, in Promoter’s materials, brochures, websites, social-media channels, and other promotional or educational materials, subject to any separate Photo, Video & Audio Release that I sign.
