Recipient Responsibilities
Recipients are required to assist Northern Plains Dance for a specific number of hours each month, based on the amount that is awarded. Parents or guardians of these students may also carry out the assistance hours for their child. At the start of the 2024-25 Academic Year, you will receive a link to NPD’s scholarship web page. Assistance hours will be posted at the beginning of each billing cycle (dates listed on the website). It is the responsibility of the recipient to save this link and check this page monthly. Assistance hours will need to be completed under this timeframe unless otherwise scheduled by the Director.
Assistance hours may not be fulfilled by any other volunteer hours assigned for production participation or student company enrollment. The family must be enrolled as a monthly automatic payer.
Additionally, any family who receives assistance from NPD is expected to participate in all fundraisers. It should be the goal of the recipient to raise at least the equivilent of their award over the course of the academic year.
Failure to fulfill these responsibilities may result in the Recipient losing their award. Past fulfillment of these responsibilities will be considered when NPD staff reviews scholarship applications in the following years. Suppose there are extenuating circumstances in which it is impossible to complete assistance hours or fundraising efforts. In that case, an email must be sent to mackintosh@northernplainsdance.org to explain the situation and find a suitable solution.
