    Request/Contract
  • There has been a great deal of care, money, time and effort spent to make our school facilities a community gathering place of which we can be proud. This form has been created for ease and efficiency in the use of the school facilities. We ask that you read it carefully and complete every item that will aid to your successful use. This form is also meant to be an informative document about the cost and maintenance of the physical facility. It explains the proper way to operate and maintain the various aspects of the stage area as well as the reasons for doing so Please feel free to ask for help or clarification in operating the equipment associated with the facility requested. In many cases, trained high school students will be available to aid in the production of your activity. Once completed, this form will act as a means of written request for use of the school facilities, thereby avoiding possible conflicts

  • The house lights are considered any light over the audience. These lights are difficult to maintain and quite fragile. They have a limited number of hours of service before burning out. The Maintenance Department does their best to keep these lights in order and in proper working condition, however, there is a chance you may have an unlit bulb for your program. If these lights are essential to your activity, please check them well ahead of time and make arrangements for their replacement.

  • The stage lights are those which will illuminate the stage area in front of and just behind the main curtain. The bulbs needed for the Fresnels, spot and flood lights out front are very expensive. The stage lights and dimmer system were purchased and retrieved through the efforts of the High School Drama Club and Elementary PTA. Stage and house lights should only be used in final rehearsals and arrangements with Drama Club or Maintenance Department to adjust the trajectory of any lights necessary for your program. The lighting systems can be accessed by flipping the breakers on from the box in the north wing of the backstage area. Each breaker on the right hand side will correspond with a dimmer panel from top to bottom. Please turn on only the breakers that you intend to use for your rehearsal/program

  • The curtain system in the auditorium has helped to make the backstage a more presentable atmosphere for performances. These are expensive articles of cloth and are equally expensive to clean. Most assemblies will not necessitate use of the stage behind the curtains, however, if you require the use of the backstage area, please minimize the number of times the curtain(s) are opened/closed. Please do not hang anything from the curtains themselves. The cloth can tear and the hardware is designed to hold only the curtain itself. The front and back curtain will be opened/closed with the ropes and pulleys. For best results, curtains should be opened/closed in a firm steady rate. Wing curtains will be moved/adjusted by pulling and manipulating the ropes on the back of each.

  • The balcony should be used for excess crowd. When in use, we intrude, even casually, on the art classroom. If you allow anyone to be in the balcony as part of your performance, you will be responsible for their actions. Recent policy is to allow children in the balcony only with their parents. Prior arrangements will need to be made for opening the hallway and balcony doors

  • The sound system for the auditorium is still in the planning stage. The high school music department has purchased most of the sound equipment. There is an 8-channel mixer available. This means eight electronic items can be used at a time. Due to travel from the auditorium to the gym, plus some occasional loaning, a couple channels have limited use. For most activities there is plenty of room for what you would desire. Please do not tap the microphones to check if they are hot (on This will damage the membranes that produce the transfer of sound These microphones are moderately expensive, but are well worth the price if taken care of. Planning is the best tool. Do not be afraid to ask something is available. More times than not, the answer will be yes, especially if there is time to locate and set-up the proper equipment.
