This will ensure that your puppy doesn't grow too fast and get hip or joint problems. Even though parent's hips are tested and very low chance of having any problems, food and environment can cause issues. If they grow too fast or jump and injure themselves at a young age this could cause problems. I reccomend strongly that you feed a large breed puppy food until 18 months to 2 years of age.
