• Licensure Exam Registration (LERP)

Students requiring additional time to study for board examinations must remain registered. You must be officially enrolled at UHSA to submit an application to take USMLE exams. If you are dismissed, withdrawn or suspended from medical school, you are not eligible for USMLE, even if you are appealing or contesting your status.

Licensure Exam Registration (LERP)Is a period given to a student to study and take licensure exams. Students that wish to take time off to study and take licensure exams must apply and be approved for a LERP. Without approval, the student will not be in good standing and, therefore, will not be certified by UHSA for licensure exams. A student that applies for LERP must pay a fee of 1500 USD and must submit proof of registering for a licensure exam within one month after the LERP period has been approved. Only two registration periods will be approved throughout a student’s four years of study and will never be approved in consequent terms. The maximum time allowed for each LERP is 4 months. It is the student’s responsibility to check with the finance office for loan eligibility and financial status.
