About our Theater Camp:
OPS ED, an outreach program of Off Pitt Street Theater Company, is offering three, camp Sessions this summer. Each session offers a week of dramatic fun for young and aspiring actors, writers, directors, & designers. During camp, students will be introduced important theater fundamentals, such as terminology, technique, and character development exercises. Emphasis will be placed on cultivating creativity and confidence in a safe, fun, and engaging environment. On the last day of each camp week, students will perform their completed, original projects.
Parents & Guardians are welcome to attend on Friday of each week at
5:30pm.
**New this year! Students will have the opportunity to perform for the community and also see the other camp productions at the:
"SUMMER CAMPS SHOWCASE" on Saturday, August 19th at 7:00pm.
This event will be FREE and OPEN to the public.
(Participation in the Showcase is encouraged but not required)
About our Camp Instructor:
OPS Guild Member, Lacey Lichvar is this year’s OPS ED Summer Theater Camp Instructor.
Ms. Lichvar holds a degree in Theater Performance from Clarion University and has over twenty years of theater experience. She has been involved in productions with "Game-On Improv" at Shippensburg University, "Things Unseen" and "Tomorrowland" Theaters, ACT, and more, and has, for the last two years, performed in several, notable roles with OPS. She is an active member of Off Pitt Street Actors' Guild.
Camp Sessions Explained:
Camp Sessions are Monday-Friday from 4pm-6pm.
Cost of Attendance:
$50.00 for one week
$90.00 for two weeks
$120.00 for all three weeks (Best deal!)
Sibling Discount:
$90.00 per three week Session or
$30.00 per “Mix and Match” week.
*Siblings do not have to be enrolled in the same camp weeks to receive a discount*
*For two or more additional siblings, contact OPS for additional discount information
Scholarships available:
Eligibility:
Any student who receives SNAP or School Lunch benefits is eligible to apply for a scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded as they are available. Application does not guarantee a scholarship. We will continue to find funding opportunities for camps.
Registration:
Theater Camp is for children ages 8 to 13.
Reading fluency (age appropriate) is required.
Session I:
June 26-30 from 4-6pm
Session II:
July 24-28 from 4-6pm
Session III:
August 14-18 from 4-6pm
**Family members and friends are encouraged to attend at 5:30pm
on Friday of each week.**
**Students must be signed in and signed out by a parent, guardian, or designee.**
