Please note the SYEP policy on allowable hours and required breaks:
- You can work a maximum of 8 hours per day.
- If you work 6 hours straight, an unpaid 30 minutes break is required.
- If you work 7 to 8 hours straight, an unpaid one-hour break is required.
Do not include the break time in your hours reported.

Some interns have asked if they could work extra hours or beyond the end of the SYEP period in order to make a difference in the world and to earn community service hours. Yes, you can, and we will sign whatever you need. Of course, actual granting of the community service hours is up to your school, so check with them.
