By visualizing, you create a mental image. This mental image serves as a blueprint for constructing the life of your dreams. You are the architect of your life and you can begin to speak these visualizations into existence by using affirmations. Affirmations are short positive statements targeted to challenge a negative belief. These are positive statements to make for yourself to help you stay focused on the areas you want to change. Affirmations are proven methods of self-improvement because of their ability to rewire our brains. Affirmations are effective in encouraging yourself and providing emotional support in both your trials and your triumphs. You can use affirmations to inspire growth and positive changes. An affirmation is a carefully formatted statement that should be repeated to yourself and written down frequently. For affirmations to be effective, they must be in present tense, positive, personal, and specific: • I believe in myself and my abilities. • I live an incredible life. • I have a beautiful family and wonderful friends. • I am a powerhouse; I am indestructible. • I take care of myself so I can take care of my children.
