• Thank you for your interest in taking part in the Introduction to Infant Feeding Peer Support Course August 2021. It aims to give you a grounding in the issues surrounding infant feeding in the UK, a debrief and reflection on your own journey, fundamentals of communication and the basics of positioning and attachment. It does not qualify you as a full peer supporter, but will give you a good indicator of whether next step training would be useful for you or not. The next full round of training will start in late 2021, and we have plenty of opportunities to volunteer as a peer supporter!

The introductory course content is delivered over 2 live sessions and a bit of virtual learning. The live sessions take place in person at the Lighthouse Centre, Dudley, which is handily where we run our groups!

    1. 24th August 2021 10-11am

    2. 31st August 2021 10-11am

We are flexible and inclusive, and the course is open to all. Your babies/children are welcome to attend the training sessions with you. Ideally you’ll learn as much from other course participants as you do from the set content, so the group has a collaborative, welcoming and respectful ethos. The course is led by a qualified teacher, with years of experience in infant feeding support as a certified breastfeeding specialist.

The cost of the course is £25, with the option to add an additional £5 to fund scholarship places. Course fees are payable by bank transfer, the details will be emailed out on booking form receipt. If needed, you can also access a birth/feeding debrief with a trained listener.

If you feel you would benefit from a scholarship place for any reason, please do get in touch - email infantfeeding@newbabynetwork.co.uk. We are also happy to accept payment plans (suggested at around £5 per week). We welcome applications from all, regardless of background, race, colour, religion, age, sex, gender identity, disability, national origin, marital status or sexual orientation. We particularly welcome applications from those living in Birmingham and Dudley.

Once your place has been confirmed, and payment received, you'll receive an email invitation to the online learning platform. If you have any further questions, please do get in touch: infantfeeding@newbabynetwork.co.uk
