AFBF Conference Scholarship

OVERVIEW

Ohio Farm Bureau is opening doors for young members by sponsoring five Young Ag Professional (YAP) members’ registration, hotel, and travel to the AFBF FUSION Conference set to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana March 12-15, 2027. 

The AFBF FUSION Conference is held every other year uniting over 1,000 Farm Bureau members of all ages from across the nation to connect, grow, and lead. It’s your chance to network with future ag innovators, grow your leadership skills, and gain new ideas to bring back to your farm, company, or local community. Whether you are just starting out or looking to level up, this is your opportunity to invest in yourself - and your future!

ELIGIBILITY

Any active Ohio Farm Bureau Young Ag Professional (YAP) member is eligible to apply for an AFBF Conference scholarship. 

The following individuals are NOT eligible to apply:

• Former YF&R Conference or Special 10 scholarship recipients
• Current & past members of the YAP State Committee
• Current & past members of the AFBF YF&R Committee

 

AWARD

Each of the five scholarships to be awarded to Ohio Farm Bureau YAP members is valued at over $2,500 covering the cost of registration, hotel accommodations, and travel to the 2027 AFBF FUSION Conference.

Recipients will be notified via email by early January to allow adequate time to book travel accommodations and publicly announced at the Ohio Farm Bureau Winter Leadership Experience (WLE) to be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, OH January 22-23, 2027.  All attendees will be notified of their application status following the formal announcement at WLE. Attendance at WLE is NOT required to receive this scholarship. 

Scholarship recipients will be responsible for travel to and from the airport in Ohio, covering the cost of meals during travel, and the cost of a conference tour if they so choose to select a tour option that requires an additional fee. 

All scholarship recipients are expected to attend the entirety of the AFBF FUSION Conference and participate in ALL general programming of the conference which typically includes flying out Friday morning/early afternoon and returning on a late Monday night or early Tuesday morning flight. A recipient may be asked to pay back the value of their scholarship if they intentionally skip general programming during the conference.
