    1: Fearful - Aggression, biting, trembling/shaking, defecation
    2: Avoids - Hiding or running away, growling or showing teeth, tail tucked, yawning, barking, crying or whimpering
    3: Netural - Doesn't show clear signs of like or dislike
    4: Curious - Sniffing, ears forward, slight tail wag, head tilt
    5: Acceptance - Confident, playful, "happy" tail wag, mouth open, tongue out

  • Definitions
    Barking - The most common dog vocalization is barking, but please also include growls, howls, whines and whimpers, screams.
    Separation Anxiety - Separation anxiety happens when a dog gets stressed when left alone. Some signs include barking, whining, destructive behavior, panting, drooling, pacing, trying to escape. In serious cases, dogs may even self-mutilate.
    Aggression - Signs of aggression include barking, growling, lunging, snapping, biting. If you observe aggressive behavior, please indicate what you think triggered the behavior.
    Resource Guarding - This occurs when a dog tries to protect a valued resource, such as food, treats, toys, a place/space (sofa, bed, room)... and even a person. A dog may bark, growl, snap or even bite when resource guarding. Please indicate what type of resource the dog was guarding.
    Destructive Chewing - Chewing is naturally soothing and a normal behavior for dogs. However, dogs may engage in destructive chewing for many reasons, including to cope with stress or boredom, separation anxiety, lack of training.
