Extending the Harvest with Hoop Houses + Cold Frames
Whether it’s spring, fall, or winter it’s always nice to have fresh vegetables to eat! Colorado’s 300 days of sunshine make our area very conducive to year-round gardening. You can start simply by planting earlier in the spring and having protection from our late spring weather fluctuations. In this workshop, learn about extending the growing season by using an easy-to-build cold frame. We’ll provide detailed instructions and demonstrate how to build a cold frame, so that you can build your own and keep your garden growing all year long. Additional info will be shared about hoop tunnels, another simple way to extend the season. Learn about plant selection, timing, and care of the crops under these covers.
