We have been inundated with requests by individuals and companies seeking to send food parcels to Durban to help those in need.
To that end, we have decided to make available a certain allocation of checked bags per flight for people to use for this purpose.
Unfortunately, due to security concerns, these bags must be accompanied by a passenger who will check the bags in at departure, retrieve them from the carousel at arrival, and pass them on to those receiving them at the other end.
While we are able to offer a limited allocation of free luggage per flight, we are unfortunately not able to offer free tickets for the accompanying passenger.
Here's how to make an application for a free allowance:
- Select your departure airport below to see what allowances are still available on each flight.
- Select the flight you intend to travel on and complete the application form.
- Only when you receive an email confirming your allocation has been granted, should you go ahead and book your seats on the flight.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- General rules around checked luggage must be adhered to.
- Each item cannot weigh more than 20kg and must not exceed these dimensions: 90 x 75 x 43 cm.
- No dangerous goods as per IATA regulations are permitted.
