Coaching Position and Duties
Term of Contract
This Contract begins on 01/10/2021 and ends on 31/08/2022 (the “Term”).
The Coach agrees to perform all of the duties and services necessary and normally associated with that position, including, without limitation, the following:
Practices. The Coach agrees to conduct all practices during the term of this Contract. The number and duration of those practices as outlined by the Head Coach.
Competitions. The Coach agrees, where possible, to attend competitions with the team.
Swimmer Evaluation. The Coach acknowledges and understands the importance of providing swimmers with useful and constructive feedback, through evaluations, for each and every swimmer throughout the season. Coaches are expected to provide feedback to swimmers on a regular basis as part of the clubs commitment to swimmer development.
Payment Schedule
Coach must submit invoice on or before the 28th of the month. Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming will pay the Coaching Fee to the Coach on the final day of each month.
During the Term of this Contract, the Coach must:
Use his or her best efforts to promote and maintain the success and reputation of Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming, and set, promote, and enforce (by his or her individual example and otherwise) the highest standards of leadership and good sportsmanship by Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming's swimmers and coaches.
Comply with all of the rules and regulations of Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming and of Swim England, and promote and enforce compliance with those rules and regulations by the club's swimmers and coaches. The coach agrees to abide by the Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming Code of Conduct and portray the expectation, to swimmers and parents, that they also abide by the Code of Conduct.
Reporting
Promptly report, to the Head Coach, on all issues or problems that arise with respect to the Coach’s conduct or compliance or with the conduct or compliance of the Team or any individual member of the Team or parent of a swimmer. Any safeguarding concerns must be reported to the Welfare Officer immediately.
Termination
The Coach may resign his or her position under this Contract prior to the end of the Term upon not less than one months prior notice to the Head Coach and the Committee. Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming may terminate the Coach under this Contract, without cause, upon not less than 20 days’ prior notice to the Coach.
In addition, without limiting the foregoing, Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming may immediately terminate the Coach under this Contract if the Coach at any time:
- Commits any breach of any of the provisions of this Contract
- Acts in a reckless or negligent manner with respect to the Club and/or any member
- Becomes of unsound mind
- Is the subject of a criminal indictment or presentment for, is convicted of any criminal offence that, in the reasonable opinion of Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming, relates to his or her services under this Contract or his or her fitness to act as Coach
- Engages in any conduct that is detrimental to or that brings discredit to Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming or its reputation
- Fails or refuses to follow the directives of Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming with respect to his or her services under this Contract provided that such directives are reasonable
- In the reasonable opinion of the Head Coach, is unable to perform the duties of Coach under this Contract because of repetitive absences or because of illness or otherwise.
Non-Compete
During the term of this Contract, the Coach agrees not to engage in any other outside coaching services or activities for any team, artistic swimming club or association or other group other than Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming without the prior written approval of Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming.
Qualifications
The Coach is required to have a valid DBS check. During the term of this Contract, the Coach agrees to provide Aquaoaks Artistic Swimming with an infomation required to carry out their DBS.
The Coach is required to have valid Safeguarding and Life Saving training.
