Title: Narrating the interplay between Hunger, Famine and the food System to members of the general public.
Date: 26th July.
Time: 19.30-2020 CET : 6.30 PM London
Mothers First cordially invites you to a parallel session at the pre-summit of the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS). The event will be held virtually.
The concept of this event is based on the citizens assembly which was successfully reinvigorated by Ireland in 2016. Empowering citizens with knowledge while giving them a voice at the political table as an integral missing piece of hunger jigsaw puzzle.
In what promises to be a free and fast-flowing event Mothers First will un-jargon major reports and thinking on the rise of global hunger. The majority of the panel of experts will be members of the general public. Their one unifying quality is that they care deeply about social inequality and the issue of hunger in our world.
Walking these corridors Mothers First will emotionally unpack what hunger is. The event will seek to ask key questions around financing and humanitarian need.
In doing so we will seek to explore the interplay between hunger on
The right to food.
Production and consumption.
Child mortality.
Famine
This is an opportunity for the general public to have their voices heard and our opportunity to listen and respond.
There will be a Q&A function during the webinar, and participants are also encouraged to submit questions for the panellists prior to the event at registration.
Hope to see and hear you there.
Mothers First.
