It takes a lot to run a farm. Make the middle of the week that much more fun by digging in the dirt and lending a helping hand! Each week, you can exercise that green thumb and watch the fruits of your work, literally!
Wednesday volunteer workdays will take place every Wednesday from 6 to 7:30PM at the Knockout Farm. Shift days may be affected by the weather. Please join us for some or all of these workdays. Please note that cancellations will be communicated by Executive Director Mike Carmody or Volunteer Coordinator Harlow Righetti as they occur.
Opportunity Knocks is dedicated to enriching life and community. We exist to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they live, work, learn, grow and connect within their community.
Our purpose on The Knockout Farm is to learn, grow and connect with our community while we produce high-quality vegetables to feed our enterprises and fuel our wellness programs. On each given Farm Day a volunteer can expect to be doing the following: pulling weeds, planting/harvesting, turning compost, spreading mulch, & more that may need to be done that day. Water will be available, but please be sure to bring a water bottle to fill up.
The OK Farm also has sunscreen, gloves, and any farm/
garden tools we will need. Also, be sure to wear clothes
that can get dirty, closed-toe shoes, and a hat is recommended.
