Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Adelaide Festival Centre's centrED invite talented performing arts students currently in year 10 or 11, from regional South Australia to nominate themselves for the 2022 Nathaniel O'Brien Class of Cabaret Scholarship. The chosen applicant will receive express entry into the 2022 Class of Cabaret program.
The recipient of the scholarship will take part in rehearsals, workshops, masterclasses, and an intensive camp throughout Terms 1 & 2 culminating in performances as part of the 2022 Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Each scholarship is valued up to $5,000 to assist with travel and accommodation required to attend each session, which all part place in Adelaide. They will also receive private tuition from one of Adelaide's leading vocal teachers and mentorship in the art of cabaret performance from two renowned artists. In addition, a Department for Education teacher will guide students through assessments to achieve SACE accreditation in either Creative Arts Stage 2 or Community Studies Stage 1, which is an integral part of the experience.
Application Deadline: 5pm, Sunday 26 September 2021 (first weekend of school holidays)
Auditions: Tuesday 12 October & Wednesday 13 October 2021 (Term 4, Week 1)
Notification of Results by: The week following auditions (Term 4, Week 2)
Information night for successful applicants: Date TBA (Term 4, Week 5)
Adelaide Cabaret Festival Dates: 10-25 June 2022
Class of Cabaret Performance Date: Saturday 25 June 2022
Workshops: Approx. 20 sessions held over Terms 1 & 2, 2022 (plus a 4 day camp in early Feb)
