The Fraser River Discovery Centre offers professional development workshops for educators interested in integrating place-based learning into their classroom practice. Our Pro-D workshops support BC’s science curriculum and core competencies; the skills are applicable for every grade! Place-based learning brings topics to life by connecting learners to the places and issues relevant to their lives, as well as boosting student achievement. Join us for a workshop that will help you make your classroom and community a better place.

This is a request form only. You will receive a payable invoice once your date has been confirmed.

The Fraser River Discovery Centre is a not-for-profit society. Our rates are based on cost-recovery. We will do our best to accommodate your group’s needs, but please understand that notice is required. Please let us know well in advance so that all necessary arrangements can be made and please do not hesitate to contact us at 604-521-8401 ext. 108 if you have any questions or concerns. 

• Bookings must be made through our online booking form. If you have questions prior to booking feel free to email us at programs@fraserriverdiscovery.org.
• You will be asked to fill out a booking request online before the workshop can be confirmed.
• Upon confirmation, payment is due 21 days before the workshop booked date. We accept MC/Visa, PayPal, and cheques payable to Fraser River Discovery Centre. A surcharge of $20 will be applied to accounts with NSF cheques.
• Please note that if a cheque has not been received before the date of the workshop, a credit card payment for the booking will be required and the cheque, once received, will be sent back.
• Payment is non-refundable if a cancellation is made less than 21 days before the workshop date.
• If you re-schedule a workshop fewer than 21 days before the worskshop date, or do not pay your invoice by the assigned date, you will be invoiced for an additional $50.00 administration fee.
