The A Learner's Toolkit (ALT) program, an initiative of the Churchie Research Centre, is excited to invite teachers to attend our first TeachMeet for 2023. This professional learning opportunity is accessible to any teacher at any school for free and will take place on Tuesday, May 23rd, from 3:30 pm to 5 pm.
We are pleased to announce that one of the ALT Critical Friends, Dr Tom Perry (an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick, UK), is a confirmed speaker on the program. Dr Perry's session will focus on the challenges faced in translating theory from the lab to classroom practice in the context of the Science of Learning (SoL) and broader cognitive psychology and science fields.
In addition to Dr Perry's session, a broader program will have classroom teachers (many from our Partner Schools) sharing how they apply the SoL in their daily practice. The aim is to present classroom-focused exemplars of the implementation of strategies such as spaced practice, retrieval practice, dual coding, or others underpinned by theories from the SoL.
If you want to share your practice and present a workshop, please complete the Invitation to Present form.
The final speaker program will be published on Friday, 28th of April.
Registrations close on Monday, the 22nd of May.
We look forward to your joining us at our first TeachMeet for 2023.
