  • FARMER'S LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION

    Farmers', Fishermen, and Consumer Assistance Act of 1977 [Act No. 3957]
    • The objective of this program is to promote and protect the agricultural industry of the Virgin Islands, to include the protection of prime agricultural farmland necessary to promote and protect the public health, safety, and welfare of the people of the Virgin Islands especially considering the responsibilities and requirements for sustainable agriculture under the VI Code (VIC 7 § 3a & VIC 7 § 6).

        • A member of the Property Management team will reach out to schedule a site assessment. These are mandatory and conducted in-person annually.
        • Once you receive the application, “Correct as listed and is hereby approved” and signed by the Commissioner or his designee, this document must be turned in to the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA).
          • This can be done online, on their website: http://dlca.vi.gov/
          • Or in-person at one of their locations.
      • Once an license has been issued the applicant is responsible for renewal each year.
        • If renewal is not obtained, a penalty fee of 10% of the license fee is assessed on a monthly basis until the license is brought current.
        • If the licensee wishes to discontinue the business license, notification must be made to the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs before the license expires.

  • Harvest Report Files (as per VIC 7 § 6bc):

    • Notarized Livestock & Poultry;
    • Notarized All Other Activities;
    • Or in lieu of the provided reports, you may submit a notarized annual report which must include the following:
      • Your name and the name of the Agribusiness for which you are filing.
      • The number of employees besides yourself (full-time, part-time, seasonal).
      • The period for which you are reporting (typically July 1 through June 30).
      • A monthly summation of:
        • each item harvested throughout the year;
        • the total poundage for each item;
        • the amount sold of each item;
        • the average sale price; and/or
        • (if livestock) Indicate what number of animals were sold live, which animals were sent to the Abattoir or other slaughterhouse, and any unexpected losses and their value.
