After a very difficult 16 months, we are honoured and excited to be able to provide three weeks of day-camp this summer! More than ever, we strongly believe that programs like ours can provide an opportunity for fun, laughter, play, and healing to children and youth in our community!
As a church and Christian youth organization, we are committed to creating an environment where this happens, and where every participant experiences belonging, welcome, and safety. With this in mind, we ask that all of us take some ownership this summer, knowing that there will be many additional safety measures to work through (see our "Top 10" list below).
As part of this, and in order to be able to keep the camps running for our kids, we ask that everyone do their part to obey the recommended distancing and masking practices. There will no doubt be hiccups as we go along, including longer waiting times with our check-in/out process. Because of this, it will take all of us showing a little more patience and graciousness to one another!
We also recognize that families in our program have differing views and comfort levels around COVID safety guidelines, and understand this can be a cause of tension and frustration. We won’t get it perfect, but we do ask that everyone – ourselves included – act kindly and respectfully towards others at the field.
At the end of the day, this is about giving our kids a much-needed chance to play and have fun – something we all want! So let’s all do our part to make sure this is a truly special place for every child this summer. If issues or concerns do arise that cannot be dealt with on an individual basis, please let us know.
We ask that you take some time now to read over all of the safety measures below.
