Students who walk (or ride a bicycle or a public bus) to or from school may encounter any number of dangerous conditions that are beyond the control of Harmony. Harmony suggests that, in order to remain safe while traveling to and from school, students who walk do so on sidewalks where available, and that students who ride bicycles do so in designated bicycle lanes, when available. Additionally, students should cross streets in the crossing zone or at an intersection, and remain aware of automobile traffic along their route to and from school. Students who walk or ride a bicycle or bus home are expected to leave campus promptly after the dismissal bell, and are not permitted to loiter on campus.
Harmony will release a student after school to walk or ride a bicycle or bus home.
Please indicate your permission for Harmony to release your student to walk or ride a bicycle or public bus home by signing this Student Walk Home Release Form and returning it to an administrator or the front office. Please consider your student's maturity and ability to identify dangerous conditions as you complete this form. Any changes to this form must be made in writing and submitted to the front office. Forms must be turned in no later than 48 hours prior to the date that your student will start walking home. Please call the office at 956-574-9555 if you have any questions.
