      IvyCrest Music Makers introduces children to the joy of singing and making music together! Students play instruments like bells and drums, sing in groups and solos, and learn music basics such as rhythm, melody, and notes — all in a fun, creative, and confidence-building environment. 

      IvyCrest Music Makers will also make a special appearance in the IvyCrest Choir Ensemble Showcase on March 12th, 2026!

    • KID'S COOKING ACADEMY (Rooms 4-11)

      Instructor: Parker-Anderson Enrichment

      In this scrumptious class, students will delight their taste buds and have a blast exploring the world of food! Each week features a new recipe to create, taste, and enjoy. Along the way, young chefs will learn the math of measuring, discover basic nutrition, and practice teamwork as they whip up delicious dishes, participate in friendly cooking challenges, and experience cooking as a fun, creative, and flavorful art form.

      (Please email oc@parker-anderson.org if your child has any minor allergies. This class is not recommended for students with severe food allergies.)

      In this dynamic art class, students will explore a variety of mediums—including watercolor, paint, and pastels—while diving into exciting artistic techniques such as perspective, shading, detail work, horizon lines, and more. They’ll also learn about famous artists and create their own beautiful pieces inspired by their iconic styles.

      As students experiment with different approaches and materials, their artistic dreams come to life—resulting in the coolest artwork around… their own!

      All students will enjoy a fun and safe environment while developing balance, coordination, flexibility, strength, and fundamental gymnastics skills. They will build self-confidence and motivation as they explore the balance beam, floor exercises, parachute, hoops, and ribbons. The class also emphasizes self-care, with the instructor teaching proper stretching techniques, encouraging healthy eating habits, and promoting discipline in regular exercise.

      Soccer is a wonderful way for children to stay active and build healthy lifestyle habits. Through engaging activities and games, your child’s character and attitude will be positively shaped as they learn teamwork, sharing, communication, and respect. And of course, it’s a lot of fun!

      In this creative movement class, toddlers will explore joyful, expressive movement inspired by music. The activities support the development of physical skills—such as balance, coordination, and body awareness—while nurturing each child’s imagination and creativity.

      This introductory class is designed especially for 3- and 4-year-olds. Students will be gently introduced to basic ballet concepts, tap fundamentals, and age-appropriate dance vocabulary in a fun, nurturing environment. Creative movement games and activities reinforce technique and terminology while supporting the development of fine and gross motor skills. The class also promotes interpersonal skills, teamwork, and growing self-confidence as children learn and explore together.

      Students will discover the foundations of ballet through graceful body alignment, fundamental positions, and the beautiful French vocabulary that brings the art form to life. They will also be introduced to engaging tap movements and terminology, adding rhythm and excitement to their learning experience. Together, these elements create a magical introduction to dance that builds confidence, coordination, and a love for movement.

      A Jazz & Hip-Hop dance class blends the high-energy flair of jazz with the rhythmic, groove-filled style of hip-hop—set to songs kids love! Dancers will learn fun, dynamic routines that build coordination, strength, and flexibility while encouraging creativity, focus, and confidence. This class also promotes teamwork and cultural awareness, all in an upbeat, supportive environment that keeps kids excited to move.

      KenDor Hall Stage

      The IvyCrest Choir Ensemble is a dynamic ensemble experience that combines vocal performance, movement, and stage presence. Students work as a team to rehearse and perform energetic, age-appropriate repertoire across genres — from Broadway to pop to choral pieces — all while building core musical and performance skills.

      Students will develop vocal technique, performance skills, choreography, teamwork, and discipline. The class will include live performances (First show tentative date: March 12th, 2026), where students showcase their hard work in a fun, high-energy setting for family, friends, and the school community.

      Together, we will cultivate musicality, confidence, and expression, encouraging creative risk-taking through ensemble performance . This course offers a supportive and inclusive environment for students of all experience levels.  

    • PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS (Primary & Elementary: Rms 4-11)

      Flexible Scheduling

      In these lessons, students will be introduced to the essential techniques of their instrument while beginning their journey into the world of music. They will learn to read music, develop a strong sense of rhythm, explore melodic playing, and build skills in ear training and sight-reading—all foundational elements for confident, expressive musicianship. This enriching musical experience nurtures creativity, focus, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

      Primary lessons: Once per week - 45 mins

      Elementary Lessons: Once per week - 1hr

      Age Requirements:

      Guitar - 5 years old and above (Ms Crystal), 4 years and above (Mr. Chris)

      Piano - 3.6 years old and above

      Ukulele - 3.6 years old and above

      In this fun and engaging course, children learn to find their voice and express themselves with confidence! Through playful activities and guided practice, we explore the basics of communication — learning when to speak and when to listen, how to use our words clearly, and how to speak with purpose and intention.

      We also practice our letters and sounds, helping young speakers build strong pronunciation skills and confidence in reading aloud. Students enjoy creative games, storytelling, and simple speech exercises that encourage self-expression, active listening, and respect for others’ voices. Kids will not only feel more comfortable speaking in front of others but will also understand how to communicate thoughtfully, clearly, and kindly.

      Primary Lessons: 2x/week, 45 min each.

      Elementary Lessons: 2x/week, 60 min each.

      I understand that by enrolling my child in a School of the Arts class between the hours of 12:30-2:30 PM, my child will be awakened from their nap by a School of the Arts staff in order to participate. Additionally, I understand that the School of the Arts teachers will be taking my child out of the classroom and walking them to and from the scheduled School of the Arts class location. I also acknowledge that IvyCrest’s School of the Arts classes including the location, staff, and children enrolled in the program are not subject to the Department of Social Services licensing guidelines and regulations.

      Names of Persons Authorized to Take Child from Classroom

      Child will not be allowed to leave with any other person without written authorization from parent/guardian or authorized representative.

  • PM Daycare

    Adding PM Daycare is required for the time the child is not enrolled in a SOA class. PM Daycare is also required for siblings of SOA participants if they will also be staying after 3:00 PM and are not enrolled in a SOA class. I acknowledge that my account will be charged accordingly. 

  • Terms and Conditions

    School of the Arts Enrollment Agreement (For All Students)

    I understand that all School of the Arts classes will take place on campus and are taught by School of the Arts personnel. I acknowledge that tuition and fees for these classes will be billed to my account monthly. Classes—excluding short-term workshops—continue year-round until a formal notice of withdrawal is submitted. I understand and agree to the two-month withdrawal policy stated in the Parent Handbook.

    If a class is canceled by School of Arts staff, it will be rescheduled. I understand that there are no tuition credits or refunds for school events, holidays, illness, vacations, or absences. If I choose to observe my child’s class, I agree to park at Searchlight Ministries. Additionally, if my child is not enrolled in PM daycare and their class extends beyond the academic day, I understand that I will be required to add PM daycare coverage for the time my child is not actively participating in a School of the Arts class.

    I further understand that certain School of the Arts classes—such as sports, dance, and gymnastics—involve physical activity and may carry a risk of injury. By enrolling my child, I acknowledge these inherent risks and agree that my child will participate under the guidance of trained instructors who prioritize safety, proper technique, and age-appropriate instruction.
