Qualifications
In order to provide the highest level of professional development opportunities possible, the RWA asks that presenters only propose a course they are qualified to teach. Qualifications can be formal (such as a bachelor's degree in a related field) or informal (in terms of experience and/or achievements in the related field). Please think carefully about what makes you qualified to teach your prosed course and share the details below.

Type of course
The Romance Writers of Australia (RWA) Academy is divided into three levels of professional development. - Online Self-paced courses - Online Short courses - Focused One-on-One Courses ONLINE SELF-PACED COURSES allow participants to work through learning materials themselves. With no presenter interaction, the cost of these courses is low. Learning materials must be pre-prepared and presented via Teachable or Webinar Ninja, with participants able to access information for 12 months after purchase. ONLINE SHORT COURSES are four-week online courses delivered in a group environment with feedback from the presenter on 500-2000 words or an equivalent small project in another medium. Group participation and feedback is expected. FOCUSED ONE-ON-ONE COURSES involve interaction between one participant and an expert in a specific field or area of writing. They should be targeted at the intermediate to advanced writer who wants to improve their writing and take it to the next level. Learning materials need to be provided and there should be opportunities for discussion. Personalised feedback should be given on a minimum of 2,000 words or equivalent in another medium. Duration is varied depending on the program.
