MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023
Between Child Development Institute and Drum to LEARN, Inc.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Child Development Institute (CDI) and Drum to LEARN, Inc. (DTL) signifies our organizations’ willingness to participate in a collaborative partnership to provide social-emotional drum/music and literacy classes to the community.
Drum to LEARN, Inc. agrees to:
1. Provide no-cost classes for the community members, including clients referred by The Help Group, CDI, and any other community-based organization. Class topics will include, but are not limited to, drum circles with rhythms, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and literacy activities.
2. The capacity of each class differs depending on room capacity, instructor/facilitator preference, and/or suggested size per class model.
3. Facilitate drum circles/classes for up to 45 minutes.
4. Provide all necessary materials for the classes offered.
5. Communicate by text and/or email for all information related to class changes: class cancellation with a 24-hour notice, running behind schedule, and/or illness.
6. DTL has the right to reschedule a class if necessary.
7. Provide a flyer for marketing the classes that has been mutually approved by both agencies. This flyer will have all pertinent class and venue information as well as the logo of the partnering agency/organization.
8. DTL is a Guest Vendor not an employee of CDI.
9. DTL will show proof of Professional Liability Insurance if requested.
10. DTL is in compliance with CDC standards and regulations.
11. I, Krickett Jones Halpern, am in receipt of three COVID vaccinates.
Child Development Institute agrees to:
1. Provide the venue for classes at no-cost to the partnering organization (DTL).
2. Provide drums if needed for classes.
3. Provide onsite support for technology or logistical matters relating to the venue that may arise before, during, or after each class.
4. Provide a staff member to open, turn on the lights, turn off the lights, lock up the room, etc.
5. Communicate by text and/or email for all information related to class changes: class cancellation with a 24-hour notice, running behind schedule, and/or location issues.
6. Provide parking close to the venue, and a parking permit and badge/ID if needed.
7. Assist in marketing the classes by sharing flyers with clientele and community partners.
Through this MOU, coordinating staff at both organizations agree to be readily available for communication/collaboration regarding the classes.
This MOU between Child Development Institute (CDI) and Drum to LEARN, Inc. (DTL) is valid from July 1, 2022, until June 30, 2023 calendar year and renewable every July. This MOU may be terminated by either party by written notice.
Child Development Institute (CDI) and Drum to LEARN, Inc. (DTL) agrees to pursue the objectives described above.
