Please Read First - Important Information Before You Start
We have developed a thorough process for our behavior consultations that aims to make our training as successful as possible, but we have a very limited capacity for individual cases, so we want to be sure we're taking on only those who are fully committed to behavior modification for the long haul.
~ Before getting started, please be sure to rule out any illnesses or injuries with your veterinarian first. They may need to know what's going on to be a part of the treatment plan, as we are not qualified to prescribe medications, etc. ~
We will ask that you trust the process, be open and willing to make long-term changes, follow the protocols, keep a continuous/open line of communication via emails, and dedicate yourself to continuing to progress through the treatment plan for at least the entire 6 months of our package.
Your dog(s) will be the ultimate navigator through this, as we need to move at their pace (not the one we'd like to go at). It will also depend on you getting the entire household (and anyone having contact with your dog(s)) on board with the treatment plan... consistency is key in dog training, especially when we're trying to reverse problem behaviors.
The amount and pace of your progress will depend on a number of factors:
- Type of issue (aggression, reactivity, anxiety, fears/phobias, etc.)
- Severity level and how long they've been exhibiting the behavior
- Number of dogs/animals in the home
- Age, Breed, Alteration and/or breeding status, etc.
- The amount of training you and/or your dog(s) have had
- If you're able to get everyone in your household on board
- How many minutes/hours you're able to put into active training
- The successful implementation of your treatment plan
- And probably more!
In other words, we can by no means guarantee/promise results
Because of the volume of our workload and our process, we are never able to start a behavior case on the same day (or even the same week)... most often, it takes at least 3-4 weeks to get from submitting your application to the Initial Consultation.
All Behavior Consultation Package fees are Completely Non-Refundable, as much of our work is done on the front end.
The package cost includes our advice/expertise, our time to develop a personalized treatment plan, and our support (via email) for the duration of the 6 months; it does not include the hours of work and environmental management that will be required on your part, nor does it include any tools/equipment that we might recommend to aid in modifying your dog(s)' behavior.
Every case is different, but generally (since COVID) we do most, if not all, of our sessions online via Zoom.
If we do meet in-person, we will have to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of everyone by requiring the dogs to be UTD on Rabies and DHPP... if they are coming here, we will additionally need them to have the Bordetella vaccine as well as a recent Fecal Test showing they are negative for parasites including Giardia.
