A lovely native small tree that blooms vibrant lavender-pink in the early spring, before its leaves have come out. Prefers moist soils but will tolerate drier sites.

A wonderful native small tree. Great for the edge of the woods or near the house. Single white or pink blooms cover this tree in the spring and the foliage turns red-purple in the fall.

A vigorous deciduous tree with rounded canopy and spreading branches ultimately reaching 20- 50’ high and wide. It is extremely cold-hardy. The very early fragrant pink buds open to white flowers and eventually produce yellow to bright red fruit.

The Sargent crabapple is a dense, spreading, horizontally-branched, deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub. It typically grows 6-8' tall with no central leader and spreads to 15' wide. Pink buds open to a profuse, but brief, spring bloom of fragrant, white flowers (1" diameter).

One of the most popular native trees, red maples are coveted for their brilliant fall color, ability to withstand challenging soil conditions and their seeds which fall “helicopter-like” to the ground. Emerging new growth leaves, leafstalks, twigs, flowers, fruit and fall color are red or tinged with red.

The Kentucky Coffeetree got its name from Native Americans and early American settlers who used its seeds for a coffee-like drink. It is an extremely tough shade tree with attractive, large, bluish-green leaves and greenish-white flowers that bloom in spring.

Pyramidal through early maturity, it’s form turns more oval in older age. Fast-growing (up to 24” per year), tolerates wet soils. Glossy dark green leaves turn russet, bronze or red.

The American linden, also known as “basswood,” is a stately shade tree with delicate pea-shaped fruits hanging from wing-shaped bracts. It is a summer-blooming tree with small white flowers, and bold, heart-shaped leaves that turn golden yellow in autumn.

A favorite choice of professional arborists, the swamp white oak is a grand shade tree with distinct leaves that are a dark green color above while being silvery-white below. As its name suggests, it thrives in wet soil situations, but can also withstand drought.

Native to the southeastern US, valued for its size, form, and fall color. Reserve for a large space where spiney-ball fruit is not an issue and there is space for root development. Provides food for wildlife.
