  • This course fulfils the Qualified Business Person (QBP) qualification requirement for a Queensland Electrical Contractors License.

    Upon successful completion of the course students will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the following units of competency:

    • UEECD0007 - Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
    • UEEEL0040 - Develop compliance policies and plans to conduct an electrical contracting business
    • BSBESB402 - Establish legal and risk management requirements of small business

  • BSBESB402 - You may not need to complete this unit of competency if you have run a business for at least 5 years or you hold an equivalent or higher qualification in business – please contact the ESO for further information – 1300 362 128.

    UEECD0007 - Can be completed either via Credit Transfer, Recognised Prior Learning or Competence. What year you completed your Trade Certificate/Certificate III in Electrotechnology – Electrician will determine how you complete this unit of competency, see below:

    Credit Transfer (CT) - If you have completed your Trade Certificate/Certificate III in Electrotechnology – Electrician in the last 10 years you most likely hold the UEE30811 Qualification and have completed unit UEENEEE101A. Your knowledge and skills from unit of competency UEENEEE101A can be transferred to UEECD0007. Evidence of your competence in UEENEEE101A such as a record of your results must be received to complete this unit via Credit Transfer.

    Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) – If you have completed your Trade Certificate/ Certificate III in Electrotechnology – Electrician more than 10 years ago we can recognise your knowledge and skills from your prior qualification but you will need to complete a Case Study (this will take approx. 1-2 hours) and you will be enrolled to complete this unit via RPL.

    Competence (C) – If you have no prior knowledge of work health and safety in the Electrotechnology industry then you will complete the full requirements of this unit of competence.

    Electricians that are eligible for CSQ funding:
    UEECD0007 – Delivered via Credit Transfer (CT) – No charge
    UEECD0007 – Delivered via Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) – $100
    UEEEL0040 - $650 – CSQ funding $750
    BSBESB402 - $450 – CSQ funding $360

    Total course fee (UEECD0007 via RPL) - $1,200 OR CSQ Subsidised fee of $90
    Total course fee (UECD0007 via CT) - $1,100  OR CSQ Subsidised fee of $0

    *CSQ funding is available to students permanently employed in Queensland in the Construction Industry and who have a right to work in Australia (Most Queensland Electricians are eligible).

  • Payment Details

    Note: The supply of an Education Course is a GST-free supply and therefore the course fee does not include GST. Payment of the course fee is due 7 days after issue of invoice. You can choose to cancel your enrolment and receive a full refund up to 7 days prior to course commencement. Cancelations or transfers make within 7 business days of the course commencement will incur a fee

  • USI - Unique Student Identifier

    The Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a new Australia-wide student number which will introduce the capacity for students to track their training records across all Australian states and territories.
  • If you do not know your Unique Student Identifier (USI), please complete the fields below and our staff will check to see if you have a USI. If you do not have a USI our staff will create one for you

  • Pre requisites of course

    • All electrician students must hold a CPR and LVR Qualification that has been issued in the last 5 years if you hold the qualification code UEE30807 or older
    • All electrician students who hold the qualification UEE30811 OR UEE30820 will not need to provide CPR & LVR
    • All students MUST have access to a laptop with Microsoft word or equivalent
  • Course Details

    • Course starts at 7:30am and finishes at 4:30pm.
    • Registration is from 7:15am on the day.
    • The course fees are per delegate and include all reference manuals and handouts.
    • Abusive or offensive behavior is not tolerated by the course facilitators.  Please see our policies and procedures (published on our website or you may request a copy from our office) for further information

      Acceptance of your enrolment is at the sole discretion of Electro-Training Institute

    Please note: All course requirements must be completed within 3 months from your course start date. Should you not complete all the assessment requirements of your course within 3 months from the completion of the in-class component of the course you will be deemed “Not Complete – Non-assessable” and your enrolment with Electro-Training Institute will end.

    Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) process: If you wish to receive recognition for any previous learning please email your qualifications or experience to enrol@electrotraining.com.au

    Late Arrivals: The course commences at 7am, any students arriving later than 30 minutes after course commencement will not be able to attend the course and will not be eligible for a refund of the course fee.

    Student Cancellation: Cancellations received less than 7 business days prior to the course are not fully refunded however substitutes on same dates are welcome. If your written application to cancel your enrolment is received 3-7 business days prior to course commencement a $200 fee will apply to your total course fee. If your written application to cancel your enrolment is received 1-2 business days prior to course commencement a $500 transfer fee will apply to your total course fee. Cancellations/no shows on the day your course commences will be loss result in loss of fee. 

    Student request to transfer to the next course date: There is no charge to transfer your enrolment to the next available course date if your written application is received 7 business days prior to course commencement. If your written application to transfer is received 3-7 business days prior to course commencement a $200 fee will apply to transferring your enrolment. If your written application to transfer is received 1-2 business days prior to course commencement a $500 transfer fee will apply.

    Institute Cancellation: The Electro-Training Institute guarantees that the training and assessment will be completed by a qualified person on the date specified on the student’s confirmation.  Should the Electro-Training Institute not provide the training and assessment on the specified date a full refund will be given to the student within two working days of their bank details being received in writing by the Electro-Training Institute office.

    Confirmation:  Full confirmation details and course instructions will be sent to you upon receipt of booking.

    Certificates/Statements of Attainment and Academic Records of Achievement: Upon successful completion, of the course, Electro-Training Institute will provide a qualification in the form of a Certificate/Statement of Attainment as well as an Academic Record of Achievement.  This qualification will be emailed to the address recorded on the student’s enrolment form.  If you would like to receive a hard copy qualification please email enrol@electrotraining.com.au and we will post a hard copy qualification to the address recorded on your enrolment form.  It is the responsibility of the student to provide Electro-Training Institute with the correct mailing address.  A fee of $35.00 will apply for any additional re-prints of your Certificate/Statement of Attainment and Academic Record of Achievement.

    Student deemed Unsuccessful/Not Yet Competent: If a student fails to complete an assessment or is unsuccessful in completing an assessment task/exam they are deemed as ‘Not Yet Competent’ by the assessor and the assessor will nominate a time for re-assessment within class time.  This second assessment will be free of charge.  If the student remains ‘Not Yet Competent’ after the second assessment, he or she will be notified that this result is final and he or she will be unable to successfully complete the unit of competency in which they are enrolled.  Any further assessment will be fee for service and the student will need to have a meeting with the Institute Director to create an individual learning plan before their re-enrolment in the course is confirmed.

    Professional development: This course is designed to meet the business qualification requirements for an Electrical Contractors licence with the Queensland Electrical Safety Office. A Statement of Attainment documenting your attendance and results will be awarded at the end of the course.

    Complaints and Appeals: We welcome any feedback about the course delivery and/or content, if you have any complaints or you wish to appeal any decision made regarding your participation please view our complaints and appeals procedure on our website or contact our office for a hard copy.

    Privacy Notice: Under the Data Provision Requirements 2012, Electro-Training Institute is required to collect personal information about you and to disclose that personal information to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER).
    Your personal information (including the personal information contained on this enrolment form and your training activity data) may be used or disclosed by Electro-Training Institute for statistical, regulatory and research purposes. Electro-Training Institute may disclose your personal information for these purposes to third parties, including:

    • School – if you are a secondary student undertaking VET, including a school-based apprenticeship or     traineeship;
    • Employer – if you are enrolled in training paid by your employer;
    • Commonwealth and State or Territory government departments and authorised agencies;
    • NCVER;
    • Organisations conducting student surveys; and
    • Researchers.

    Personal information disclosed to NCVER may be used or disclosed for the following purposes:

    • Issuing a VET Statement of Attainment or VET Qualification, and populating Authenticated VET Transcripts;
    • facilitating statistics and research relating to education, including surveys;
    • understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information; and
    • administering VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation.


    You may receive an NCVER student survey which may be administered by an NCVER employee, agent or third-party contractor. You may opt out of the survey at the time of being contacted.

    NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the VET Data Policy and all NCVER policies and protocols (including those published on NCVER’s website at www.ncver.edu.au).
