This survey is part of an EPSRC exploratory project to extend the life of metallic components by rejuvenating materials. We seek to rank the most promising techniques to treat materials preventively (before damage detection), to extend the life and delay the need for repair. 

This table classifies some common techniques that can be used to treat materials. We seek guidance from industries about their applicability, which will guide future research into industry-friendly techniques with good circularity potential.
