The Mission of the St. Paul Area Chamber's Young Professionals Network is to build relationships, develop professionally, become politically and philanthropically active, and contribute to the economic development and high quality of living or working in the Saint Paul/East Metro Area.
Committee Member Expectations
- Must be employed by a member business in good financial standing and should be a good ambassador of the St. Paul Area Chamber brand as a whole.
- Commit to one-year terms, which run January to December.
- May only serve on one St. Paul Area Chamber committee at any given time.
- Commit to attending a minimum of 8 of 10 monthly committee meetings, which occur the second Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m.
- Responsible for staying current on information by reading the secretary’s notes of any meetings they missed.
- Commit to attending most of the monthly events. For most events, Committee Members receive a $10 discount. (Must attend 5 of 6 events)
- Connect with attendees – especially first-timers – at events to cultivate relationships, encourage participation and obtain feedback.
- Actively promote the Young Professionals Network and events on social media and at other Chamber events to continuously grow the Young Professionals network.
- Speak up! Be a fully active and engaged member of the committee by sharing your opinions.
- Serve on a subcommittee or in the capacity of another defined role (including Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary). Each subcommittee will have a lead.
- Each subcommittee is expected to meet (via phone call, over emails, in person, etc.) as appropriate outside of committee meetings to ensure all assigned tasks are completed.
Subcommittees
- Outreach Subcommittee: Identify strategies and opportunities to build awareness of the Young Professional Network among young professionals in our community. (External Communications)
- Communications Subcommittee: Drive communication of Young Professional events and news through various channels. (Internal Communications)
- Event Subcommittee: Identify and organize opportunities for young professionals to engage in meaningful events.
