When Colorado’s COVID-19 State of Emergency Order ended on July 8, 2021, Licensed Substance Use Disorder agencies providing DUI services were required to immediately resume in-person or face-to-face DUI services as video technology utilization was emergency specific. Additionally, OBH’s licensing and designation process was required to resume on-site visits.
On Aug. 6, 2021, the State Board of Human Services adopted a rule change allowing DUI services to be provided using video technology and granting OBH the discretion to determine if an on-site licensing visit is applicable, all changes are effective immediately. This emergency rule-change reestablishes access to needed behavioral health services for individuals who cannot readily go to a facility for in-person treatment.
