  • Safety Provisions

    All participants (racers, handlers, spectators, volunteers) are required to follow these safety provisions when attending any CDMA event - Please read carefully.

    Registration: All registration for CDMA events will be online; no late or in-person registrations will be allowed.

    Face coverings: All participants over the age of 2 will be required to wear face masks or coverings at all times in the parking lot and staging area. Both mouth and nose must be completely covered. On the trail, mask or face covering will be used when within 10 feet of another individual (e.g., during a pass).

    Parking: Each racing team will park in a marked space adjacent to the starting posts, allowing a distance of at least 12 feet between competitors.

    Social Distancing: Race crews (including handlers, family members, and guests) will maintain 6 feet of separation from other individuals not part of their race crew.

    Race Start: CDMA will not provide assistance at the start line for teams. Each racer must be able to handle their own team. Racers and their crew are solely responsible for handling their dog team at race start.

    Indoor spaces: Use of the clubhouse, timing tower, and equipment storage area is limited to authorized CDMA Board members and volunteers. 

    *Participants of any CDMA event include all persons present on CDMA premises during an event, regardless of membership status in CDMA. CDMA premises include the two parking lots and staging areas, sled dog trail system, clubhouse and timing tower at Beach Lake Park.

    If you answer “YES” to any of the questions above, please DO NOT ATTEND this CDMA event. CDMA will refund your entry fee upon request.

  • Contact Information:

  • Any participant exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms at any CDMA event will be asked to leave the premises. If subsequent testing is positive for Covid-19, participant shall notify CDMA within 24 hours.


    Once notified, CDMA will contact the Anchorage Department of Health and Human Services of potential exposure and provide all available contact information for participants at the time of occurrence.

  • Chugiak Dog Mushers Association (CDMA) has developed this Covid-19 Event Safety Plan in accordance with current CDC guidelines and the mandates set by the Municipality of Anchorage and the State of Alaska.

    All individuals should consider their risk of exposure to Covid-19 before attending any CDMA event.
