  • Pathway to Success Scholarship
    Funded via the Eagle Foundation

    The intent of the Pathway to Success Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a student with an intellectual or developmental disability who has an interest in attending a post-secondary education program. Pathway to Success Scholarship applicants must demonstrate in this application that they have a strong interest in enrolling in classes or a certificate program that will enrich their life by helping to develop skills that will lead to competitive employment and/or independent living, enhance socialization, or in some other way empower the applicant to succeed.

    Scholarship Award:

    • One-time award of $2,500
    • Announced at the annual Senior Awards Ceremony in May
    • Monies must be applied toward tuition or service fees payment to an accredited academic or career-oriented institution of higher learning
    • Check will be written jointly to the successful student and academic institution, which will be sent to the student requesting endorsement, who will forward the check to the appropriate school/university’s financial aid office for credit to the student’s tuition account 

    Scholarship Recipient Criteria:

    • Senior at Cumberland Valley High School
    • Attended CVHS for at least two years
    • Have a diagnosis of an intellectual or developmental disability, and were served under an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) 
    • Proof of acceptance at a post-secondary institution prior to distribution of funds
    • Academic achievement (minimum 2.75 GPA)
    • Demonstration of employment status and/or community/school involvement

    Application Information: 

    • DEADLINE for submission of all required information/documents: April 1
    • Application form to be submitted through this portal
    • As much as possible, the essay should be written by the student, with minimal to no assistance provided by a parent/guardian
