Soaring Eagles Scholarship

The Soaring Eagles Scholarship recognizes a student on the basis of the applicant's character, compassion, spirit, commitment to CV, and/or volunteerism, among other factors.

Each year the Eagle Foundation will award the Soaring Eagles Scholarship to a graduating Cumberland Valley High School senior who has been designated and recognized as a Soaring Eagle at any point throughout their high school tenure. The Soaring Eagles recognition program at the High School provides for two students to be nominated by teachers and staff each month based upon character or for their positive contribution to the school or community.
Scholarship Award:
- One-time award of $2,500
- Announced at the annual Senior Awards Ceremony in May
- Monies must be applied toward tuition at an accredited educational institution (two or four-year college or university or vocational or technical school) within one year of the award
- Check will be written jointly to the successful student and academic institution, which will be sent to the student requesting endorsement, who will forward the check to the appropriate school/university’s financial aid office for credit to the student’s tuition account
- Based on application and required essay
- Made possible through a generous gift by The Mechanicsburg Club to help further higher education
Scholarship Recipient Criteria:
- Senior at Cumberland Valley High School
- Has been designated and recognized as a Soaring Eagle at any point during his/her high school tenure
- Will attend a post-secondary institution
- Acceptance at a post-secondary institution prior to distribution of funds
