  • Military Legacy Scholarship

    The Military Legacy Scholarship recognizes a student who is a member of a "military family" on the basis of the applicant's character, academic performance, service, and leadership, among other factors.

  • Scholarship Award:

    • One-time award of $2,500
    • Announced at the annual Senior Awards Ceremony in May
    • Award must be applied toward tuition at an accredited educational institution (two or four-year college or university, or a vocational or technical school) within one year of the award
    • Check will be written jointly to the successful student and academic institution, which will be sent to the student requesting endorsement, who will forward the check to the appropriate school/university’s financial aid office for credit to the student’s tuition account 
    • Based on broad criteria reflecting high character, good academic performance, volunteerism, service to CV and the community, leadership, and extra-curricular involvement, among other traits 
    • Made possible through a generous gift by The Mechanicsburg Club to help further higher education

    Scholarship Recipient Criteria:

    • Child of a parent or legal guardian who serves currently or served in the active-duty military, Reserves, or National Guard at any point during the applicant’s lifetime
    • Evidence of such service must be provided by the selected recipient prior to distribution of the monetary award
    • Senior at Cumberland Valley High School
    • Acceptance at a accredited educational institution (two or four-year college or university, or a vocational or technical school) within one year of the award prior to distribution of funds
    • Demonstration of high character, good academic performance, volunteerism, service to CV and the community, leadership, and extra curricular involvement, among other traits

    • DEADLINE to submit all required information/documents: April 1
    • Application form to be submitted through this portal 
    • Additional Documents: 
      • Evidence of service must be provided by the selected recipient prior to distribution of the monetary award
