    Great start! You're right.

Due to the nature and high absorbency of most products, a large amount of blood is soaked into the materials found in pads and tampons. A product who enters your body to absorb blood (tampon) instead of collecting blood (menstrual drop) always poses a higher risk to be a place to harbor a bacteria.

A bacteria that enters the blood must be present for toxic shock to occur, since it's essentially an infection of the blood stream. It is always best to use good hygiene when using any menstrual product.

    Yes, indeed.

Leona Chambers, an American actor, patented her runner cup in 1937, it was one of the first products for females invented by a female. Silicon hadn’t been invented so rubber was used. The idea didn’t catch fire because it was up against a roaring market of big companies, heavy marketing and the luxury of single use products.

    True Story.

Sadly women have used a number of things not so ideal to manage their period. We admit to reaching for toilet paper when we are in a pinch. Sadly, a lot of countires don’t have such a luxury as free toilet paper in the public bathrooms.

    That's Right.

Both tampons and pads were invented by men and marketed by huge global companies. Marketing tactics like “discreet packaging” and “compact products” to shift the mindset to the fact that something needs to be hidden. It's time for a more realistic dialogue and products that were invented for women by women.

Due to the fact that they are mistakenly thought to be flushed down the toilet, tampon applicators easily make their way to the oceans via plumbing. Due to their hard plastic nature it’s undetermined how long they will stick around in this world.

The average age to start your period now is around 13 years old, girls are much younger and this can be much more traumatic at a young age if not educated and properly aware. Scientists think the change is because of a few reasons, one of them is consuming more food. Fat Cells make estrogen, therefore the more fat you have in your body the more estrogen you have to start your period sooner. Like many other things stress also affects this, stress is from hormones so naturally it can affect other hormones cause your period to start earlier as well.

    Yup!

Since at least 60% of women are being physically stopped throughout their busy day to manage severe pain on a monthly basis we thought this was important to mention.

Dehydration, lack of sleep, negative period talk, heavy dairy, toxins from products, caffeine and other processed foods can make this cycle worse for so many women. If you look at the negative list, this is a normal day for so many of us. It's no wonder it has been reported that women are feeling more pressure from their periods now than from 100 years ago even with advancements in science.
