The Camano Connection call program is a voluntary program designed for seniors living alone. It is a social call from Camano Center staff or one of our volunteers. We call typically Monday - Friday between 9 a.m.-10a.m. This is a social call to listen to what you want to talk about.
This call is part of our over all desire to help seniors combat isolation and loneliness. It is not a welfare check. We do not call on the weekends or holidays and there may be other times when we are out of the office and are not able to make any phone calls. Therefore, this call does not replace supervision or other safety decisions you and your family need to have in place. A side benefit of this program is a call to the person you designate as your emergency contact. We will ask him/her to check on you if you do not answer after two phone calls.
We typically do not call for emergency services to respond to your home unless we haven't received a return call from you or your emergency contact.
Kindly call us and let us know if you will not be home or if you will be unavailable to take our call. This will prevent us from unnecessarily worrying your emergency contact.
