Check which program dates you would like to register for. We will contact you if a session is cancelled due to weather or illness. You will receive a confirmation email that will allow you to edit your submission. Registration is optional for most programs but helpful to be able to notify you if there are changes. Thank you!
*SPECIAL* PARENT CAFE for Families with Young Children: IN PERSON at the Shutesbury Elementary School. Pizza dinner at 6:00. 6:30 -7:30. Child Care and Parent Discussion. Parent led. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Child care may be limited based on how many care givers we have.
*SPECIAL* TINKER PLAYGROUP for families with children 3-5 years of age. Registration required. Limited to 10 families max. Held at the Leverett Library, 75 Montague Rd. (please note- if you have attended this program in another community, please leave these spots for someone who hasn't had the opportunity to participate. Thanks!)
*SPECIAL* HOW THINGS MOVE IN NATURE with educators from the Hitchcock Center. 1 hour session. Intended for young children 3 -6 years of age. Children and their adult companion will discover all the wonderful ways that nature’s creatures get around- flying, hopping, slithering, and crawling. We will observe how insects fly and climb, how worms wriggle,turtles crawl, seeds move and lots more. This program encourages learning through movement, singing, crafts, games, stories and great adventure!
MONDAY: TALES & TUNES in SHUTESBURY with Katie 10:00am. Families are invited to participate in a music and literacy based program with books, rhymes, music and movement. To be held OUTSIDE at the M.N. Spear Memorial Library. CANCELLED if raining. Thank you to the M.N. Spear Memorial Library for collaborating and supporting this program.
TUESDAY: TALES & TUNES in New Salem with Katie at 10:00am. Families are invited to participate in a music and literacy based program with books, rhymes, music and movement. To be held INSIDE at the New Salem Library. Thank you to the New Salem Library for collaborating and supporting this program.
WEDNESDAYS: WENDELL LIBRARY PLAYGROUP- 10:00- 11:00 am Play outside on the playground or inside in the children's room. Socialize with other families, practice playing together, join in on activities, make friends. Facilitated by Sylvia. Wendell Library, 7 Wendell Depot Rd. We will hold the session inside if too wet. Thank you to the Friends of the Wendell Library for collaborating and supporting this program.
WEDNESDAY Leverett Library Playgroup with Gillian at the Leverett Library- 10:30am. Free play time for families with children 0-5 years of age with a short circle time and books to wrap up! Thank you to the Leverett Library for collaborating and supporting this program.
Friday: TALES & TUNES at the SHUTESBURY Elementary School with Katie 10:00am-11:00. Families are invited to participate in a music and literacy based program with books, rhymes, music and movement. PJ STORY TIME AT THE ERVING PUBLIC LIBRARY : 2 Care Drive, Erving at 6:00pm- -6:45pm. Join us for a PJ Story Time! PJ's optional. Take home an activity kit at each session.
SUNDAY ERVING PLAYTIME: Erving Elementary School, 28 Northfield Road, Erving at 10:00am -11:30am . Families are invited to participate in a playgroup for young children held in the school gymnasium. Socialize, make new friends, play and learn! Facilitated by Gillian & Jenn.
Parent Child Plus- SIGN UP! We are now enrolling families for our NEW home visiting program for families with children 18 months - 3 years of age children in Erving, Leverett, New Salem, Wendell and Shutesbury. Home visits 2x a week for half-an-hour from September 2023- June 2024. Free books and toys for every participant! FREE!
BONDING WITH BOOKS: GREAT opportunity for a special family story time and parent education program called Bonding with Books with educators from the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. Save the dates: Mondays, February 6, March 13, and April 10. To be held at the New Salem Library. Free resources and snack for participating families!
