A hands-on workshop that will engage parents, community leaders, advocates, and service providers in understanding the impact of systemic oppression on marginalized populations. Through group discussions and practical exercises, participants will learn strategies to help individuals and families build resilience, navigate institutional barriers, and develop effective coping skills to overcome adversity in environments shaped by discrimination and inequality.

A half-day training designed for community leaders and service providers to learn how to identify and support marginalized populations and families enduring systemic oppression across areas such as socioeconomic status, health, mental health, and income inequality. This interactive session will explore strategies for addressing systemic barriers, crisis intervention methods, access to local resources, and collaborative approaches to promote equity and advocate for long-term change in these communities

This presentation will educate agency leaders on how positionality and power dynamics influence decision-making and client interactions. It will highlight the importance of acknowledging intersectionality in organizational policies and service models to reduce systemic oppression. The session will conclude with a discussion on promoting equity in leadership, service delivery, and organizational culture to better serve marginalized populations.
