Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills with provide you with the basic outdoor skills needed to guide an outdoor program in accordance with BSA standards. The skills taught are based on the outdoor skills found in the Scouts BSA Handbook. This course is required for all Scouts BSA leaders to be considered “trained”.
For IOLS Training:
Who is this for? All Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Troop Committee Members, Scouters, and other Adults.

Check-in starts at 7:45a Saturday morning with the Opening Ceremony starting at 8:45a
All sessions will be outdoors. Please dress appropriately.
To bring: You will need pen, paper, personal eating and drinking gear, camp chair, cook gear to be shared within your patrol, tent, and personal camping gear. You will be assigned a patrol prior to the class in order to plan your flag, yell, menu for the weekend; BSA field uniform (Class A) and activity uniform (Class B) are needed; BSA medical form parts A and B are required.
Come with a Scouting spirit. Leave with the knowledge to deliver the best outdoor program possible to our youth.
For BALOO Training:
The Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is required for Cub Packs to conduct outdoor overnight events. Each Pack is required to have a BALOO trained leader (two are strongly recommended) present at any overnight pack activity. Participants will be learning basic outdoor, camping, and cooking skills. Any registered adult Scouter may attend. The BALOO course is a two day course beginning Saturday morning.
BALOO participants: please note there is now an online section of BALOO. Please complete the online section before attending by visiting https://my.scouting.org/ and logging into your scout account.
All participants are required to have with them the BSA Health and Medical Form (Parts A & B only) and the Council's COVID-19 CampActivity Form.
All participants are required to have a copy of their Youth Protection Training certificate with them as well.
