USC mUSiC Young Artist Competition

The USC mUSiC Young Artist Competition is aimed at unearthing musical talent of a high calibre and providing these individuals with an opportunity to develop this natural ability by enrolling in the BA Music degree program at the University of the Southern Caribbean.
Rules and Guidelines
1. Participants are required to fill out the Competition Registration Form.
2. Participants will be required to submit proof of a completed or in-process application to the BA Music degree Programme at USC for the 2020-2021 school year.
3. Participants will be required to submit a Performance Video satisfying the following criteria:
  a. Performance should be done on the applicant’s primary instrument.
  b. Performance should represent the entrant’s best work.
  c. Performance should be a concert-styled performance of a classical nature. Performances of a substantial nature in other genres may be considered.
  d. Performance should be a work of not more than 5-10 minutes in length.
  e. Accompaniment is allowed if required, but the performer’s soloistic capabilities should be highlighted throughout the performance.
4. Performance video should be uploaded to YouTube (unlisted) and the link submitted as part of the registration process.
5. Registration Deadline: Friday Sept 17, 2021.
6. Competition entries will be adjudicated upon by a panel of USC mUSiC Faculty.
7. Successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday Aug 25, 2021
*The Department of Music and Fine Arts reserves the right to determine the number and value of scholarships awarded to participants based on the standard of the performances submitted. This may range from no scholarship to a full One Year Tuition Scholarship. Terms and conditions of the scholarship award will be made available to any successful participants who will have the opportunity to accept or reject the offer.
