Misfit Adoption Pre-Application Addendum
A misfit is a dog that has suffered past abuse causing trust issues. A Misfit has either already bitten, or could easily be pushed into a bite if not understood. H.A.L.O. trainers work hard each day to provide Misfits an environment to move past their fears and thrive, but leaving the shelter and entering a new home can cause a rush of fears to come back and new triggers to arise. Misfits do not want to live in a shelter, but do need the right home to be successful. To meet a Misfit a Pre-Application must be approved ahead of setting up a meet and greet with H.A.L.O. trainers. You also must be willing to meet multiple times until both parties are comfortable taking the next step of going home. Misfits come with a complimentary training session in the home within two weeks after adoption to ensure as a family, any problematic behaviors are caught and brought under control.
