The latest IPCCC report shows that urgent climate action is required to have the best chance of avoiding dangerous climate change. And one of the best things Australian councils can do is to make the best decisions - evidence is key, but so is the art of transfer of knowledge from research to policy.
At the Better Futures Australia forum on Tuesday 17th August 2021, Australian councils were introduced to the powerful "Cities Activity Database". The database incorporates around 13,000 climate activities, including data on the cost of an intervention, the carbon abatement potential, the probability of uptake and probability of success, to model a carbon abatement scenario for each intervention. This is a database that will be able to determine the most popular, most impactful, or most cost-effective interventions targeting a certain sector or source.
With the launch of the Cities Activity Database we can help ensure the climate action planning Australian councils implement will be the most impactful for the communities they serve.

We’ve joined forces to offer a pilot program to any councils who are interested in joining CPP to be the first in the world to benefit from the database. If you're already a member of CPP then you can still express interest and we'll let you know through announcements just around the corner how you can benefit.
Make sure you also come to the CPP Introductory Webinar at 1pm (AEST) on Wednesday 15th September where we'll talk about the database and pilot propgram and jump on here for some further information.
And of course, you can also contact Ironbark at any time.
