  • How can my supervision service help your practice?

I offer counsellors and other clinicians a safe, confidential and prudent space that can empower their professional abilities by encouraging collabrative discussions which will provide deeper understanding of options and different perspectives available to the supervisee.

Empowered Minds supervision is aimed at giving supervisees the chance to have a truly reflective and open aspect on the work that they do in their practice.

Are you a therapist or clinician who has worked extremely hard to build and sustain a successful practice and/or professional career? Do you know what it means to be there for your clients or patients, providing them with the tools that can enabling them to be in a better stronger place?

Supervision provides the space where you can open up about the wonders and delights that come from helping others, and also a safe place where it feels good to discuss all the pressures, anxieties and stresses that can also accompany such a demanding role.

Where clinical supervision is concerned I do not profess to think that I know more than my fellow clinicians, I look forward to learning from them just as much as offering some golden nuggets of insight that I have gained from my own experience.

I do promise to be there for my supervisees in whatever way needed, whether joining in for celebrating successes, assisting in disecting sessions, providing or reminding them of theory they learnt, but my number one aim is to always be encouraging and nurturing.

Sometimes for certain circumstances, difficult conversations and decisions have to be made to ensure that your client is safe and getting the best help that they need without anyone being compromised, these conversations never get easy, however we are both in the service of getting our clients to that better place and as your supervisor I am prepared to have the tough talks if needed, I am also your clients external ears and eyes.

    How do I work?

I am an integrative counsellor preferring to use a more pluralistic approach to person centred therapy, in my private practice I have worked with a wide range of adult clients who have brought me just as wide a range of presentations, I also work for an EAP / IAPT style tech start-up comapany called Spill.

Seeing mainly 20+ year old adults means I have limited or no experience working with clients under the age of 20 and especially not minors, unfortunately it would be unethical of me to attempt to supervise someone who predominantly works with under 18s.

Supervision to qualified and unqualified counsellors, clinicians, psychotherapists who work integratively, humanistically or Person Centred, I have gained over 3000hrs experience and am fully qualified in Single Session therapy, my practice offers clients both online and F2F therapy and happy to supervise in either mode.

     My work experience?

Over 10 years experience in private practice that I have operated from my own home, I also provide my skills and experience to a tech start-up company called Spill that allocates Single Session therapy and short block therapy, to other companies who offer their staff should they require therapy (similar to an EAP), I see most my clients online via Whereby or Zoom but I also have clients that I see F2F.

  • What I can offer as your supervisor

We would work ideally in the same modality as you use in your counselling practice, I offer clinical supervision by providing structured reflection on your practice, and offer support and encouragment which helps strengthen the development of your skill, knowledge, awareness and ethical judgement.

I find socratic questions very helpful for myself, my clients and other fellow clinicians to gain a better, deeper understanding of what is/has happened in session, I will offer a honest and sometimes direct point of view.

Working Face to Face (F2F) in my Private Practice or online (video) via Whereby or similar video platform, feedback is an inevitable and advantageous dynamic of supervision and so I offer feedback but also request feedback for my own development.

I like to use elements of the 'seven eyes of supervision' model as well as the Integrative development model to get a concise knowledge of the relationship you have with your client.

Open and honest two way discussions and exchanges helps gain awareness and provides clearer advice and acceptance in regards to any therapeutic situation, this is something I guarantee because if it feels like there is an improvement that could be of benefit and help to your client or which will help you to better help your client, I always invite conversation.
